New Morrissey album
pushed back to 2009
Originally set for a September release date, Morrissey's has pushed his next
album "Years Of Refusal" back until early 2009. The 12-track album was produced
by Jerry Finn, who also worked on Morrissey's 2004 album "You Are The Quarry."
Meanwhile, plans are in the works for a reissue of Morrissey's 1995 album
"Southpaw Grammar" with remastered audio, three previously unreleased tracks and
new artwork.
Michael Jackson to release new greatest hits album
Michael Jackson will release another greatest hits album to celebrate his 50th
birthday, with fans compiling the track listing this time around. The album will
be titled “King Of Pop” and is set for a August 25 release date. The set will
feature 18 tracks chosen from a song list of 50 tracks that includes all his
hits, including “Billie Jean,” “Off The Wall,” ”Bad” and “Thriller.”
New Metallica album now set for September 12
The new Metallica album "Death Magnetic" will be released worldwide on Friday
September 12. According to the group’s label, a Friday was chosen to prevent
pirated copies of "St. Anger" from entering the marketplace early. First single
off the album is the track "The Day That Never Comes."
Paul McCartney working with Nitin Sawhney on new
material
Paul McCartney has recorded a new song, titled “My Soul,” with Nitin Sawhney.
The song is set to be released on Sawhney's forthcoming new album “London
Undersound,” which should be out in October. According to British newspapers the
song was inspired by McCartney's ex-wife, Heather Mills, whom he divorced
earlier this year.
New T-Pain album Thr33 Ringz out next month
T-Pain has had regular US chart hits since 2005’s “Rappa Ternt Sanga.” Last year
he gained highest airplay for 2007 for the song “Buy U A Drank” and also won a
Grammy Award this year for Best Rap Song. His new album “Thr33 Ringz” features
guest performances by Ludacris, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled and Kanye West. “Thr33
Ringz” will be out next month.
Stereophonics release Pull The Pin album in the US
Stereophonics have announced a US tour to coincide with the release of their new
studio album “Pull The Pin.” Their new effort is set for a September 9 release
date and was already release in Europe in 2007. It was produced by Kelly Jones
and Jim Lowe, from whom the latter previously worked with Foo Fighters and Manic
Street Preachers. Meanwhile, Stereophonics will re-release their entire studio
back catalogue during September and October. |
